RESPONSIBILITIES OF HR DEPARTMENT
TOWARDS EMPLOYER
1.Recruitment and selection of candidates:
When recruiting for new positions, HR must first understand the organization's needs and ensure that those needs are met. It's not as easy as posting an ad on Indeed: they'll have to conduct market research, consult with stakeholders, and manage budgets as well.
Once the position has been advertised, additional research must be conducted to ensure that the best candidates are attracted and presented. Recruiting is a massive—and expensive—task; the right candidate can revitalize an entire organization, while the wrong candidate can throw everything into disarray.
2.Hire the most suitable employees.
In order to find the right person to the right job HR department schedule interviews, coordinate hiring efforts, and onboard new hires. They're also in charge of making sure all of the paperwork associated with hiring someone is completed, as well as ensuring that everything runs smoothly from the first day to the last.
3.Process payroll and managing them.
Payroll is a beast unto itself. Taxes and working hours must be calculated and collected on every payday. Expenses must be reimbursed, and raises and bonuses must be included in. HR has to make sure taxes are properly deducted every pay period which is a daunting task.
4.Maintain employee records.
Maintaining HR records is mandated by law. These records help employers identify skill gaps to help with the hiring process and to analyze demographic data and comply with regulations. Each employee's personal information and emergency contacts are also included.
5.Conduct disciplinary actions.
This responsibility needs to be handled with lot of care as it is such a sensitive matter. Discipline actions, when handled incorrectly, can result in the loss of a valuable employee, and even result in litigation or bad reputation. But when handled correctly, disciplinary action can result in the success of an employee.
On the other hand, disciplinary action isn't always the best option, and an employee may need to be let go. HR departments with the best track records recognize when an employee isn't a good fit for a company and would be happier elsewhere. HR must establish a strong enough relationship with managers and employees to determine a team's unity and health.
6.Update and develop HR policies and procedure.
As the organization changes, policies must be updated at least every year. It is HR's responsibility to make official policy updates and to suggest policy changes when policies are no longer serving the company or the employees. As a result of a single incident, a policy may need to be updated. HR should be involved in and consulted on these decisions at all times.
7.Training and Development.
HR need to conduct educational activities within a company that are designed to improve employees' knowledge and skills while also providing information and instruction on how to perform specific tasks more effectively. Training and development involve improving the effectiveness of organizations while adding values to individuals and teams within them.
8.Perform a benefit analysis.
When it comes to attracting the best talent, staying competitive is critical. If the benefits are more appealing, a promising recruit may choose a different company with lower pay. HR should look into similar companies on a regular basis to see if their organizations benefits are competitive.
Conclusion.
The HR department heavily contributes to their company, by attracting correct persons to fill employee gaps, while keeping update with the ever changing business world.
By processing payrolls and adding compensations & benefits HRD help to keep a motivated team in an organization which at the end of the day matters when achieving final goals.
Well trained employees will help employers to run their organization smoothly while giving competitive advantages against rivals.
So by bearing responsibilities HR department help employer to reach its goals efficiently and effectively.
